Jacob, Zvi


Son of Syria and Joseph, was born on the 15th of Cheshvan 5704 (1/11/1963) in Beit Shean. Zvi began his studies at the Rambam Elementary School in Beit She’an and continued to study at the ORT Comprehensive Religious High School, where he participated in various sports activities. He was especially fond of playing soccer and basketball and played in the youth soccer team at Kibbutz Afikim, and was active in the Beit She’an Municipal Community Center and volunteered as a youth for MDA patrols in his city. He loved to travel the country, and when he heard that he was organizing a trip to the Gadna, he was one of the first to join the trip, and that Tzvi loved and excelled in the chess game. Zvi thought to sign a career army service and intended to take courses in various courses so that he could advance in the ranks. He volunteered for a combat unit and was assigned to the Armored Corps. After completing basic training, Zvi was sent to a course for tank commanders, and even planned to leave for the Armored Corps course. When the Peace for Galilee War broke out, he was stationed with his unit in Lebanon and took part in the battles. On the 28th of Tammuz 5747 (28.7.1984), Zvi fell in the line of duty and was brought to eternal rest in the military section of Beit Shean cemetery. He left behind his parents, brothers and sisters
