Jabloriski, Zvi


Son of Bluma and Haim, born in Kfar Vitkin, was born on August 1, 1926, in Haifa. He completed the elementary school in Kfar Vitkin and two additional classes. Afterward he began working in his parents’ farm as a farmer in every respect. Zvi was active in the local youth company. The land, the family, the homeland-to which he had all his love. “A human being” who aroused respect and affection for all who knew him. From a young age he was a member of the Haganah. In 1943 he enlisted as a patrolman for the coastal guard in the vicinity of Netanya, and later moved to serve in the British army. At first he served in Egypt and when the Jewish Brigade was established, he moved to Europe. Was in Belgium and the Netherlands, took part in transporting refugees, and after his service in 1946 returned to work in his parents’ farm. With the decision of the UN General Assembly to divide the country into two states, he joined the Haganah in the Alexandroni Brigade. He first served in the sappers’ division, then took a sniper course and took a scouts course, participated in the battles for Kakun, was in Kfar Yavetz, then worked in the intelligence department of his battalion. He did his duty with humility, without boasting. When he raided an Arab post near Bir-Burin near Tulkarem on the night of 2/11/1948, he was wounded in an attempt to help a wounded member who was lying near the post. He was transferred to the Tel Litvinsky Hospital and the next day, on 3 November 1948, died of his wounds and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kfar Vitkin.
