Izbocki, Ella (Tsafrira)
Daughter of Dina and Aryeh, was born in 1927 in Bialystok, Poland, and in 1933 immigrated to Israel with her parents, who settled in Ness Ziona. Where she graduated from elementary school, studied agriculture for two years in Einot, specialized in the citrus fruit packaging, and later worked in this profession in Pardesi Ness Ziona. She moved to work at the British military camp at Tel Nof. Ella completed various courses, including a first aid course and patient care, and worked as a nurse. Proudly stood up for the honor of Israel and the honor of the daughters of Israel working in the hospital. When a British sergeant was arrogant toward Yemenite girls and in response to her reproach he replied that soon Hitler would come here and slay all the Jews, slapped his cheek. She was charged, brought to trial but as a result of her testimony the sergeant was fired. In 1945, she joined the Etzel underground, helped her comrades by removing weapons from military camps, blowing up the railway bridge near Kobeiba, etc. In the evenings she sewed sweaters for friends and paid her wages to needy friends. And then in the battle for Ramla, from mid-May 1948 until the first truce, the Irgun forces attacked Ramla from the north-west in order to bind the Legion forces to this arena. During the battle, on May 16, 1948, she was hit by a bundle of bullets in her stomach while she was helping the wounded. She was laid to rest in the Nahalat Yitzhak Military Cemetery.
