Izbitzky, Yehuda (Leib)


Yehuda, son of Rochel Leah and Chaim Zvi Izbitzky, was born in 1924 in the city of Turk, Poland, and immigrated to Israel in 1933. After his marriage and the birth of a daughter, the young family settled in Haifa. During the War of Independence he served in the Carmeli Brigade and fought in the Galilee front. Yehuda fell in an attack on the Sheikh-Abed outpost near Manara on the 23rd of Tishrei (23.10.1948). He was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Rosh Pina.
