Itzikowitz, Moshe
Moshe, son of Sarah and Shmuel Itzikowitz, was born on October 28, 1942, in the town of Pashkany, Romania. In 1945, at the age of 17, he made aliyah and joined the Haganah. For a while he was a member of Kibbutz Mivtachim near Hadera and was a baker by trade. In February 1948 he joined the Alexandroni Brigade. On the 19th of Nissan, April 28, 1948, during the “Hametz” operation to encircle Jaffa, he fell in a position near Salameh, after a continuous 60 hours without food or sleep. The enemy’s bullet hit his lungs and he died on the spot. Moshe was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya.
