Itzhaki, Zalman


Son of Shmuel and Chaya. He was born on May 14, 1947 in Haifa; His parents were members of the Yagur farm. He studied in the kibbutz and completed his high school studies. He worked in the orchard. When he reached the army he was recruited in November 1966 and completed his basic training in the Golani reconnaissance unit, and was transferred to one of his battalions before he completed his compulsory army service. On the sixth day of the battle, on the sixth of Sivan 5767 (June 10, 1967) , Fell in battle in the Banias camp in the Golan Heights. He was an outstanding soldier who was destined to advance in military life, as testified by his company commander, and if he did not belong to the company for a long time he acquired his life as a devoted warrior and his death was a severe blow to the entire company. He was buried in the military cemetery in Afula and was later transferred to eternal rest at the cemetery in Yagur. In “Yoman Yagur” (“Yoman Yagur”), the farm leaflet he published for the “Thirty”, his memory was raised with the rest of the farm who fell in the war. A special section was dedicated to him in the booklet “In Memory of Them” published by the kibbutz. In Gogli Esh, vol. 4, the school bag of the sons of the fallen soldiers in Israel, was brought from his estate.
