Itzhaki, Yoel


Son of-Batya and Yehoshua, was born on 27.2.1930 in the city of Breslau, Germany. At the age of five, in 1935, the family immigrated to Israel and settled in Tel Aviv. Yoel studied in the Bialik and Geula elementary schools and continued to study in the high school for commerce. From there he went to study the electrical profession. Was an enthusiastic athlete, especially a swimmer. I love society and I love it. He took part in all kinds of pranks, but he also loved reading and argued about what he read, to make it clear to himself. He also had a penchant for painting. On March 1, 1948, he joined the army and served in the Givati ​​Brigade. He trained in the Aqir camp and his unit was the garrison in the village of Uriya. In the battle for the village of Julis, he was seriously injured, transferred to the “Bilu” hospital and then to Beilinson Hospital and died three days after his injury on the 21 th of July 1948. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery Military presence in Nahalat Yitzhak.
