Itzhaki, Dov


Son of Rachel and Shmuel. He was born on the 4th of Shvat, 5766 (February 4, 1966) in Netanya to a traditional religious family. Dov grew up and was educated in a religious framework, first at the Yeshurun ​​religious public school in Netanya and later in the junior high school at the Bnei Akiva Yeshiva in Netanya, where he completed his high school studies and passed the matriculation exams with honors. During elementary school he studied music at the Netanya Conservatory and played accordion. He was also a member of the Bnei Akiva youth movement. Dov was a tall, solid guy who also found time to play basketball, a sport he liked. He was a gifted young man, loving justice and pursuing peace, loved by his friends and always willing to help others not to receive a reward. When he completed his high school studies, he strengthened his religious beliefs and beliefs. He asked for a deferral of service from the army and continued his studies at a high Torah yeshiva. He spent two years at the Azata yeshiva in Netivot and two more years at the Ofakim yeshiva. Dov completed his high studies and decided that it was time to contribute to the State and enlist in the IDF, and was drafted into the IDF in early November 1988 and assigned to the Artillery Corps. On the 11th of Kislev 5749 (20.11.1988) he fell while fulfilling his duties and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya. Survived by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
