Son of Pesia and Arieh Leib, was born on December 6, 1911, in Transylvania, Romania. Grew up in an ultra-Orthodox home, was educated in a yeshiva in Krasnaya and lived a life of Torah and work until the Nazi takeover of this part of the country, which was returned to Hungary. Was among the many who were transferred to the extermination camp and among the few who survived. Two years later he was tortured in the camp and managed to escape as the Russians approached. Since then he intended to immigrate to Palestine. His turn came when the War of Independence was already in full swing. He separated from his brother who remained in Austria, and immigrated in 1948 with his wife. They established their place of residence in Even Yehuda. Ze’ev Wolf joined the IDF on August 1, 1948, was posted to the Alexandroni Brigade and fought on various fronts, took part in the conquest of Kakun, and during Operation Horev he went down with the brigade to the Negev. In which an Egyptian brigade was stationed, the attack was carried out on the eastern flank of the “pocket” in the area of ​​Iraq al-Manshiyya, and the Alexandroni forces broke into the village from the south and took control of it, but their assault on the hill north of the village was repulsed. And some of the force was captured in the village, and on that day he fell on the 28th of December 1948. He was buried in Faluja and left behind a wife on the day of Kislev 5710 (8.12.1949). ) Was brought to rest Water in the Nahalat Yitzhak military cemetery.
