Israel, Tzur-Zvi


Ben Shoshana and Menahem. He was born on 18 May 1971 in Jerusalem. A middle son of five children. Tzur-Tzvi began his studies at the Jerusalem elementary school, continued to study for three years in the junior high school in Ma’aleh Adumim and another three years at Ort College. In his youth he participated in “Youth for Youth” activities, played and trained volleyball in the youth team of Jerusalem and Maaleh Adumim. At the end of February 1990 Tzur was drafted into the IDF and was assigned to the paratroopers, and during the period of his service he underwent many courses, including parachuting, Tzur was a very professional soldier with a high level of motivation and personal ability.As an officer, he performed his duties with great care and was willing to criticize, with the intention of improving his performance. צור On May 18, 1993, – Severe wounds and transferred to Rambam Hospital. For about four months, Tzur fought for his life, and on the day of the 26th of Elul 5753 (12.9.1993) died of his wounds. In the same action, Lieutenant Zohar Halamish was also killed. Tzur-Zvi was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. He was twenty-two when he died. Survived by his parents, and four brothers – Erez, Ronen, Lior and Rotem. His family commemorated Bashir.
