Son of David and Sarah. He was born on the 28th of Iyar 5710 (28.4.1950) in Netanya. He studied at the Yavneh elementary school and continued with the Bnei Akiva Yeshiva and the agricultural yeshiva in Kfar HaRoeh, where he was a member of the Bnei Akiva youth movement and also served in Gadna. Shmuel loved all the living and breathed around him. Love for man, cheek and flora was unique to his personality and was evident in his pleasant manner, generosity and a smile that was reserved for him. He was a devoted son to his parents. It seemed that all his life was to please his parents. They also knew in Kollel that Shmu’elik always completed a minyan for prayer and even ran to find a tenth for minyan. Shmuel was drafted into the IDF on September 20, 1968, and volunteered to serve in the Nahal Tzurim nucleus in the Nahal Brigade. As part of his service he took part in the establishment of the Dikla outpost. He graduated from the IDF and was involved in managing road construction in Sinai. He returned to Israel with his wife and two daughters and settled in Netanya, where he was born, and after his return to Israel, Shmuel was called up for reserve duty, on 28 August 1978, “Shmuelik was a devoted, quiet, courteous and friendly man,” the unit commander wrote in a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, “he was a soldier, a soldier and a soldier.
