Israel (Isrulik) Shikory


Son of Esther and Tsafrir was born on October 13, 1962, in Moshav Azaria. Israel was named after his grandfather – Yisrael Levi. Israel began studying at the Ayalon regional elementary school and completed his studies at the Ramosin vocational high school in Ramla, specializing in automotive mechanics. Although he suffered from arthritis and had to swallow many pills, he grew stronger over the years, dealt with many sports fields and mainly with boxing. Israel was the first captain of the Maccabi Neshar-Azaria soccer team (after three local IDF soldiers). In 1979 he was also a lieutenant colonel in Israel until the age of 17, and played in the moshav soccer team. In addition, Israel liked to do embroidery and jewelry. On behalf of the Moshavim Division, he guided children and youth and was socially active in the moshav. Israel was drafted into the IDF in early November 1980, and volunteered for the Golani infantry brigade, where he underwent training and was supposed to be sent to a squad commanders’ course, but did not win. On the 22nd of Tevet 5742 (22.1.1982), Israel fell in the line of duty and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. After they fell, he was promoted to corporal. Israel left behind his parents, two sisters and two brothers
