Isaiah, Samuel


Son of Israel and Shderot. He was born on 18 August 1952 in Rehovot. He studied at the son of Zvi School and at the TEDA high school in Rehovot, but as a child he suffered from a slight limp in his right leg, but when he reached the age of eight, he completely recovered from this limp, but mentally heightened his desire to excel in sports “When he reached the age of 15, he considered himself suitable to be a guide during the summer holidays at the” Ilan “summer camps for those children that he spent during his short period of disability. He was a member of the Elitzur Association in Rehovot and participated in handball and volleyball games. He was able to devote his free time as an active member of the Gadna Air Club in Rehovot, and during the holidays he would spend time with his apprentices in one of the air force bases and prepare the ground for his service as a pilot in that corps. At the beginning of November 1970, and since he had not yet received an answer regarding his suitability to the air crew, he volunteered for the paratroopers, because he wanted to serve in an elite combat unit. At the end of April, he was wounded while carrying out his duties, and a few days later, on 7 May 1971, he died of his wounds and was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Rehovot.
