Inbar (Meltzer), Alexander (Ali, Alik)
The eldest son of Aryeh and Ada. He was born on December 28, 1939 in Kiryat Haim. He graduated with honors from the “Meginim” elementary school and later went on to study at the “Sammat” vocational school near the Hebrew Technion in Haifa, in the electrical track, despite his successes in his studies, He loved and loved his family and was not only a loving husband, but also a loyal son of his parents, and he had a strong connection with his friends, and the responsibility and order were embedded in his blood. In August 1958 he was drafted into the IDF and served in the IAF. He completed a navigational course and reached the rank of captain. After his discharge from the regular service he joined the regular service. For four years Alexander had fulfilled many military tasks. In the last years of his life, he wanted to develop in the framework of the Air Force, in electronics, and study at the Hebrew Technion. He was preparing for the after-flight entrance exams, before which it was clear to the command that if Alexander was the pilot, the mission would be 100 percent complete. But his successes on his flights did not make him boast and he remained modest. But at the outbreak of the Six-Day War, when Alexander served as a pilot on a Vetor, he fell with his plane in a battle at H3 airport in Iraq; It was on the third day of the battles, which is 28 Iyar 5767 (7.6.1967). Alexander was always right for every call and flight that involved danger. Before he was shot, he managed to carry out seven operational sorties. He laid a wife and a girl of about a year and a half. After about two months, his body was returned from enemy territory and brought to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. In the “Trees that were Shorn,” the memorial book for the residents of Kiryat Hayim, several pages are dedicated to it.
