Iluz, Mordechai (“Moti”)


Son of Machluf and Robida. Was born on October 13, 1940 in the city of Meknes, Morocco. As a child, he studied in the “cheder” and in the “Talmud Torah” school. Afterward, he studied at the Kol Israel Haverim school. He was a member of a Zionist youth movement in his native city and under the inspiration of the Habonim organization, and with the encouragement of his counselors, he aspired to immigrate to Israel. In 1954 he stopped his studies and immigrated to Israel with his family. Here he continued his studies at the vocational school in Kiryat Haim. His source of income was frameworks. In February 1958 he was drafted into the IDF and completed his regular military service in the Golani Brigade, the brigade that the Acre municipality adopted. In 1965 he married one of the daughters of his hometown who immigrated to Israel and then left his job to open a laundry from He wanted to improve his economic situation and advance in life, and before the outbreak of the Six-Day War he was one of the first to join the unit Was killed in a battle near Jenin and on the second day of the battles, he fell on the occasion of the rescue of casualties, and he was buried in the military cemetery in Afula and was later transferred to rest.
