Iluz, Maimon (Edmond)

Iluz, Maimon (Edmond)

Son of Yitzhak and Carmela. He was born on July 1, 1956 in Lod. His family moved to Haifa and Maimon began studying at the local ‘Ahiezer’ elementary school. The financial situation in the multi-faceted family was not good, and Maimon decided to study a profession in order to help the family’s agriculture. He was accepted to the “Torah and Crafts” high school in Kiryat Ata and studied mechanical frames there. At the end of his studies, he went to work at IMI and the Israel Shipyards, where he gave his parents a salary. Maimon was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in mid-May 1974 and assigned to the Engineering Corps, but served only a few months on December 5, 1974. On May 5, 1974, Maimon fell to the military cemetery in Haifa. Followed by his parents and eight brothers and sisters: “Your son served as a driver and was respected by his soldiers and commanders as a soldier and a loyal friend. He was known as a quiet, disciplined, strong-willed soldier who received everything he had to do quietly and with good spirit. “His family donated a Torah library to the Beit El synagogue in Haifa in memory of Maimon.
