Iluz, Abraham

Son of Esther was born on February 24, 1962 in Afula, where he was born two weeks after his parents came to Israel from Algeria. In 1980 Avi enlisted in the IDF and was stationed in the navy. He began a course in command-and-rescue, but after a while he left the course and moved to the Intelligence Corps. One day, when he was driving from Jerusalem to Nablus, he had a serious car accident and the vehicle he was driving overturned on the side of the road. On February 12, 1981, Avi fell in the line of duty and was put to rest in the military cemetery in Afula. He left behind a mother and sisters, and step brothers.
