Ifergan, Pinchas

Ifergan, Pinchas

Son of Sultana and Mordechai, he was born on August 20, 1962 in Be’er Sheva. He volunteered for the Civil Guard and served there until his induction into the army. Pini was an enthusiastic athlete and dedicated himself to tennis. In 1981 he enlisted in the Golani Brigade, where he was known as a young, honest and loving young man, who volunteered for a combat paramedics course. In the Peace for Galilee War, Pini’s armored personnel carrier was hit directly. Pini and his three friends who were with him were killed on the spot, on 16 Tamuz, 6.7.1982. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Dimona. He left behind his parents, brothers and sisters. In a letter of condolence to the family, “He stood out in the company as a paramedic who performed his duties in the best possible way, and was very devoted and responsible in dealing with the wounded and loved and accepted in the company.” Shortly after his family received the news of the fall of Pini, the postman brought a postcard from him saying, “Everything is fine with me, you have nothing to worry about.”
