Idan, Erez

Erez, son of Malka and Ami, was born in 1983. From an early age, Erez dreamed of serving in the naval commando unit. He went through the consolidation, but was not accepted and was very disappointed. Erez knew that every unit he served in he would contribute all he could and much more, and so it was. On March 19, 2002, Erez enlisted in the Duchifat Battalion. At the end of basic training, he was sent to a squad commanders’ course, successfully completed it and was asked to command recruits .On the 24th of Tishrei (October 19, 2003), he was killed in an ambush of terrorists. He was buried in the military cemetery in Holon, and he was survived by his parents and two brothers. For fuil bio, see Hebrew.
