Ibrahim, Adel
Son of Zahara and Tawfiq was born on January 31, 1966, in the village of Sajur in the Galilee. He completed his elementary studies at the state school in the village, and then went on to graduate from high school in Ramah. He belonged to a large and magnificent Druze family, which constitutes about a quarter of the villagers. As such, Adel grew up and was educated in the best of tradition, succeeded in his studies, served as an example to others and brought honor and pride to his family. The principal of the high school in Ramat-Gan wrote: “As part of his high school studies, Adel participated in Shalach activities. He was a disciplined student, excelled in his courtesy and manners. “Although he was of a quiet nature, he had a personal initiative and always volunteered to participate in the various projects of the school and to help others. As a student, his achievements were good because of his seriousness, his diligence, and his ambition to continue to study at the university and eventually become a dentist. After graduating from high school, his father wanted him to continue his studies at the university, but Adel did not want to burden his family, whose economic situation was not good at that time, and rejected his father’s proposal. He promised that after completing his military service, he would go to work and be able to finance his own studies. Adel was drafted into the IDF at the end of July 1984. He was sent to a corps of infantry recruits, and was sent to a training base as a combat soldier, and on 20.9.1984 Adel was killed while serving in the cemetery in the village of Sajur And he left behind his parents, two brothers and four sisters … In his condolence letter to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “… during his service he was a good soldier, disciplined, reliable, popular and acceptable to his comrades and commanders. But the whole unit was heavy because of the size of the loss. We lost a brother and a model friend … “
