Horowitz, Moshe


Son of Tova and Mordechai. He was born on November 18, 1952 in Moshav Nir Israel, where he studied at the Nitzanim Elementary School in Be’er Sheva and at the Amal High School in the mechanical track, And was assigned to the Armored Corps. He completed basic training and was sent to the Armored Corps School for Tank Training. He was promoted to the rank of corporal and assigned to serve as a tank driver in the 77th Battalion and later in Battalion 82. In 1974, Moshe was discharged from regular service in the IDF and was accepted to work as a metalworker in an aluminum warehouse as an employee of the Israel Defense Forces. And was assigned to the IAF Technical School for an aircraft mechanic course and was assigned to serve in Hatzor, where he expanded his professional training in an advanced course for an aircraft mechanic and a course for team leaders and was appointed head of the hydraulics team. In his opinion on resistors, his commanders wrote: “A very good professional, diligent, dedicated and reliable, functioning efficiently under stressful conditions, with initiative, an adult and experienced.” On May 18, 1987, Moshe fell in the line of duty when he was injured in the course of his work by the explosion of an airplane’s wheel.
