Horowitz, Gideon

Gideon ben Herbert-Baruch-Shmuel and Claire. He was born on the 15th of Adar II, March 21, 1935, in Alexandria, Egypt. According to the lineage of the family they were descendants of Shmuel Hanagid and the tenth generation of the Shlah HaKodesh. His grandfather was Rabbi Yeshayahu Halevy Ish Horowitz, a veteran resident of Safed and one of the founders of the Rishon Letzion colony.Gideon immigrated to Israel in 1951. Almost immediately after his arrival in Israel, he was accepted as a student in the Military Squadron Institute because of his special abilities and knowledge of foreign languages ​​(English, French, Italian and Spanish). 5 Adar II ,March 10th, 1954 he was put to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant after his death.
