Horowitz, Chana

Daughter of Moshe and Rachel. Was born on October 6, 1958 in Rehovot. She is a member of a religious-Haredi home at the Beit Ya’akov Teachers’ Seminary in Jerusalem. As a child she was alert, but over time she shut herself up in her own world, Hannah was very attached to her sister, with whom she spent her spare time. She liked to read books. She often helped the house and worried about her little brothers, while the parents had to work hard to support the family. Although she was a girl from a religious home, she insisted on her desire to serve in the army. In January 1977 she was drafted into the IDF and was sent to a military policewoman’s course after completing her course on January 1, 1978. She was brought to rest in a cemetery on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem “In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote:” I would like to point out to you the appreciation that Hanna received in my unit for being a dedicated, quiet and pleasant soldier. Hannah tried to do her job efficiently and diligently, but with great modesty. “
