Horn, David


Was born on May 5, 1930 in the city of Buczacz, Poland When the Germans invaded Poland, David was deported with his family to the death camps, and only David and his father survived. To a DP camp in the American occupation zone, and while his father was hospitalized for his lung illness, David went free without any framework of studies or work. But David remembered that he had promised his father that he would work in the country and try to get both of them a home to live in, so he gave up his studies and went out to work in fortifications that were vital On the 17 th of Tishrei 5710 (October 20, 1948), David fell in the line of duty while the truck carrying him and his friends boarded a mine in the Beit She’an valley and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
