Honshtar, Nuri


Son of Efrayim – Tzadik and Avihail. He was born on April 15, 1925 in Suleimania, Iraq. He studied five years in elementary school. Was a butcher, but in the afternoons he gave his father a hand with agricultural work. He served in infantry and reached the rank of sergeant. He immigrated to Israel in 1951. After immigrating to Israel and staying at Sha’ar Ha’aliya for only twenty days, he enlisted in the IDF in January 1951. He fell in battle at the mouth of the Sea of ​​Galilee near the Sea of ​​Galilee on 6.5.1951 and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery Military base in Rosh Pina.
