Hoffner, Amir

Amir, the son of Hilda and Moshe, was born on June 22, 1954, in Kibbutz Geva, Amir enlisted in the IDF in mid-May 1972 and was assigned to the armored corps. He completed basic training as an outstanding trainee, and served for a while as a tank driver and as a liaison officer in a tank crew. After completing his tank artillery course, he served for a while in his profession in the Golan Heights. During his first vacation, he once thought aloud: “The level is so Yaffa, but if war breaks out, I will fall there.” This thought did not prevent him from volunteering to take part in the battles at the level when the Yom Kippur War broke out. After serving in the Golan Heights he was sent to a tank commanders course and Amir was stationed as a tank commander during his service in the army, and Amir did not sever his ties with his classmates, despite the fact that he had acquired new friends. In the Yom Kippur War Amir took part in the battles against the Syrians in the Golan Heights, and in one of the battles his tank was hit and disused, and he volunteered (as he volunteered at the beginning of the war to rise to the level of his regular position in the south) to join the team Another tank, in the role of driver, during the battles on the 9th of Tishrei 5740 (October 9, 1919) 73), Amir was killed and brought to rest in the Kiryat Tivon cemetery, leaving behind his mother, sisters and brother.
