Hochman, Baruch


Son of Yehuda and Zissel. He was born on the 26th of Sivan, June 27, 1921 in Gurdock, in the Minsk region of Poland. His family immigrated to Israel in 1925. He completed his studies at Tel Nordoi Elementary School in Tel Aviv and later studied at the Safra vocational school. He was a chauffeur and was active in the ranks of the Haganah. At the time of the War of Independence, he took part in the battles in Salameh, Jaffa, Hiriya and Yazur. On the 28th of Elul 5710 (Sept 10, 1950) he fell while carrying out his duties and was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak. He left a wife and daughter.
