Hochberg, Amram
Son of Chaya and Zvi. He grew up in agriculture and raised flowers and vegetables and built small fish ponds. In the early days of World War I, he began studying at the agricultural school in Mikvah, but when the war broke out, he was sent to his home. During the war years he helped his parents with household care and with various agricultural work: in the orchard, irrigation and vegetable growing, he also participated in the orchestra that was established in Nes Tziona. Amram and his friends were suspected of collaborating with the British. They were taken to Jerusalem, then marched to Nablus and Afula, and from there they were taken by train to Damascus. On January 4, 1918, he died of typhus and was buried in Damascus.
