Hochbaum, Yehuda (“Bossi”)
Son of Azriel and Frida. He was born on the 11th of Tevet 5704 (11.1.1944) in the Chaklov region of Russia. At the age of four, in 1948, the family immigrated to Israel. He completed his studies at the Hess elementary school in Petach Tikvah and then went on to the Brenner High School, but did not say that he continued to study at the Israel Institute of Education in Tel Aviv. He belonged to the Hashomer Hatzair movement and was given his head and most of his guidance in the nest. He was also a member of Hapoel in Petah Tikva. He was especially interested in Holocaust literature. Modest in all his ways, serious in all his actions and idealist with all his Lev. He did not know how calm his mind was about how many of his contemporaries were not inclined to a life of pioneering and that was what bothered him. Was a member of the nucleus affiliated with Kibbutz Yakum and saw it as his present and future home. In July 1961 he was drafted into the IDF as part of the Nahal Brigade, and here, too, he was loyal to his path and took seriously his role and the tasks assigned to him. Because of his honesty and honesty, everything loved him. On the 24th of Nissan 5764 (6.4.1964) he fell while fulfilling his duties and was brought to eternal rest in the civil cemetery in Petah Tikva. In the letter of condolence to the parents, the company commander wrote a few admirable words of appreciation, and among other things, noted that his last mission was “voluntarily and with exemplary behavior.” Kibbutz Yakum published a pamphlet in his memory. It was also mentioned in Uri Milstein’s book, “The Paratroop Wars.”
