Hitter, Mordechai-Chaim

Son of-Zahava and Shmuel-David was born in Adar in 1929 in the city of Gross-Varden, Hungary, and immigrated to Israel in 1948 on the illegal immigrant ship “Mordei Hagetaot.” Mordechai-Haim fought in the Oded Brigade during the War of Independence, (June 14, 1948). A monument in his memory was erected in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. This fallen hero is a “maklan” – a hero whose burial place is unknown.
