Hishan, Imad


Ben Farah and Salah. Was born on 12 April 1973 in the Druze village of Julis, in the Lower Galilee. A third son of a family of five. He attended the Julis A Elementary School in Julis, the Achva High School in Kfar Yirka, and the Amal Samson High School near the Golani Junction. Imad was a very popular and popular boy in the village. He always insisted on his opinion and expressed his will, and often said: “There is nothing that stands in the way of the will.” At the beginning of August 1992, Imad was drafted into the IDF, completed basic training, was assigned to the Ordnance Corps, and was sent to serve at the transport base in Tira as a mechanic. According to his commander, Imad was an excellent professional. He did his work with great efficiency and vitality and showed initiative in subjects that were not related to his work. On May 6, 1993, Imad fell in the line of duty. He died in a car accident near Kfar Yasif and was put to rest in the Druze village of Julis. Survived by his parents, three sisters – Aviva, Amal and Senna and brother Anan. He was twenty years old when he fell. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Your son, Corporal Khashan Imad, stood out as a diligent and talented young man and was a model soldier … He was very kind, friendly and had bad relations with many of the commanders and soldiers in the unit.”
