Hirschberg, Nehemiah
Son of Sarah and Israel, was born on January 1, 1962 in the town of Chzanov, Poland, the remnant of a distinguished Zionist family. He received popular and high school education. In the days of the Nazis, during the period of terror and hardship, he acquired the profession of carpentry. At the end of World War he joined the “HaThiya” group of the United Pioneering Youth Movement, and he wandered and crossed borders until he reached Italy, aspiring to cooperative life in the building of the country Nechemia boarded the Latrun and, On 15.5.1947 he went straight to Kibbutz Ein Gev and was absorbed in the agriculture, and he did not say much that his eyes were on the future of the Redeemer, and therefore his friends did not know details of his life in the Diaspora. He returned to work in the farm. When the War of Independence broke out he took part in defending the place against the Syrian army. During the attack the enemy was wounded in the face, chest, and leg as he crept away from the front to the inner position, and in the throes of battle did not know exactly where he was. After a few hours he was in serious condition because of a lot of blood loss. He was taken to the operating room in the shelter and an attempt was made to save him in a blood transfusion, but in vain, and there he died on Tuesday, June 10, 1948. He was laid to rest in the Ein Gev cemetery.
