Hirschberg, Menachem (Manfred)


Son of-Orna and Friedrich (Fritz) was born on February 2, 1924 in the city of Breslau, Germany. He studied for several years in the Gymnasium, and when the Holocaust of Hitlerism came to the Jews of Germany, his parents gave him to the Youth Aliya, where he went to a Zionist pioneering training program in the Netherlands. In 1939 he immigrated to Israel and worked as a farmer in Nahariya. Menachem was a member of the Haganah during the peace years and a soldier in the Israel Defense Forces during the War of Independence, died of a stroke in a military hospital on the 17th of Heshvan 5709 (19.11.1948) and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
