Hirsch, Uri-Elchanan

Son of Ephraim and Leah. He was born on the 24th of Iyar, 1929 in the city of Fukshany, Romania. He graduated from high school there. He immigrated to Israel in 1947. He belonged to the “Ichud” youth movement (on behalf of the Poalei Eretz Israel party) and served as a guide there. During the War of Independence, after his enlistment in the IDF in September 1948, he served in the Artillery Battalion and later continued his service in a permanent army, on the 19th of Nissan 5714 (22.4.1954) he fell in the line of duty and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery Military base in Kiryat Shaul.
