Hir, Marcel

Ben Bahia and Suleiman. Marcel was born on December 9, 1970, in the village of Yasif, north of Aco. A seventh child to his parents grew up in a family of eight children. On February 20, 1989, Marcel enlisted in the IDF, serving in full service as a combat soldier. Marcel married Basma and they lived in Julis. At the end of 2002 their son, Nur El-Din was born. Sergeant Marcel fell on June 20, 2015. Thirteen years earlier, on 4 August 2002, he was seriously injured in operational activity in Samaria during reserve duty. Since then he was hospitalized until his death. Marcel was forty-five when he fell. He was laid to rest in the Kfar Yassif cemetery. Survived by wife and son, parents, five brothers and two sisters.
