Hilms, Stephen-Samuel-Joseph

Shmuel Yosef ben Julie and Marshall, was born on the 15th of Adar, March 7, 1947 in the United States, where he completed his studies. After serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War, Steve enlisted in the Los Angeles Police Department for the Special Anti-Drug Unit. He immigrated to Israel in 1973. At the end of 1973, he was recruited as a police officer in the Central District, and in 1976 he was assigned in the sabotage unit of the Central Region. In September 1978, Steve was called to handle an explosive charge at the gas terminal on Bethlehem Road in Jerusalem. As he approached the scene, an explosive device exploded and Steve was seriously injured. He passed away at age thirty-one . He was buried in the cemetery on Mount Herzl, Jerusalem.
