Hillel, Nimrod


Ben Chava and Michael. He was born in Bat Yam on the 17th of Av 5724 (25.7.1964). When he joined the army at the end of October 1983, he volunteered to serve in the Paratroopers Brigade. He took a platoon commander course and then a course for infantry officers. At the end of the course, he was assigned to serve in the young engineering company of the Givati ​​Brigade, where he served as a team commander for two years. Toward the end of his service, since his successor had not yet arrived and the staff under his command was active in the north, he gave up his discharge leave and remained to command his soldiers, although he was supposed to begin his studies. After graduating, he studied electrical engineering at the Technion in Haifa.On August 10, 2006, on his forty-second birthday, Nimrod fell in a battle in the village of Levona in southern Lebanon, near the border and near Rosh Hanikra. An anti-tank missile fired by Hizbullah from the Lebanese village of Naqura hit him directly and killed him. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Rosh Ha’ayin cemetery. Survived by his wife, three daughters and a son, parents, sister and two brothers.
