Hess, Yaakov

Yaakov, son of Ahuva and David, was born on 18.7.1953 in Tel Aviv. Yaakov was drafted into the IDF in November 1971 was placed at “Golani”. After a year of service in the brigade as a combat soldier, he was sent to a combat paramedics course. He was very successful in his studies in the course and excelled in his role as a medic. On October 16, 1973, he was killed in the shelling of the Syrians while he was evacuating casualties in the Beit-Jan cemetery and was brought to rest in the Kiryat Shaul cemetery, leaving behind his parents and sister.
