Herschel, Eliahu-Yechiel (“Eddie”)

Son of Mordechai and Hannah. He was born on January 23, 1937 in the city of Pietashti, Romania. He was four when his parents immigrated to Israel with him. He completed his studies at the central elementary school in Ramat Gan, seven departments in the municipal high school and the eighth in the Dvir High School in Ramat Gan. Was cheerful in his spirit and, despite his jokes, was also responsible and serious when necessary. The man of action was and always is in action and movement. He was a member of the “Scouts” movement and became a member of Kibbutz Tel Katzir, while being devoted to the ideal of kibbutz settlement. He was drafted into the IDF in August 1955. He fell during his duty on 26 March 1975 and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Kibbutz Tel Katzir published a pamphlet in his memory bearing his name.
