Herman, Michelle


Son of Amnon and Shoshana. He was born on July 18, 1959, in Tiberias. Where he studied in the fifth elementary school, continued and completed his studies at the vocational high school Amal in Jerusalem, with the aim of carpentry. Michelle loved his profession, carpentry, and after completing his studies he worked for a year or so in the carpentry shop, while he remained in the carpentry shop until his enlistment in the IDF. He had a great dream of traveling in Africa and getting to know the wildlife he was interested in. Michel was pleasant, he loved to laugh and sang a pleasant atmosphere around him, and he used to help his acquaintances when he needed them and was interested in their problems. In November 1977 and assigned to the infantry. After basic training he was sent to a infantry unit as a food supplier. He succeeded in his job, and his desire for cleanliness and order helped him. The commander of the base says: “Michel fulfilled his duties faithfully and devotedly and was a model soldier.” On the 21st of Kislev 5739 (21.12.1988) Michel fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Survived by his parents, four brothers and a sister. His family donated a Torah scroll in memory of the synagogue in Kiryat Menachem in Jerusalem.
