Heller, Gabriel

Gabriel (Gabi), son of Ilana and Abraham, was born on July 6, 1944 in Haifa. Gabi was drafted into the IDF at the end of July 1962, and as a member of the “Tidhar” group of the Scouts, he was posted to the Nahal Brigade. On the 28th of Tishrei 5734 (October 24, 1973), our forces in the city of Suez were attacked and killed, among them Gabi. He was brought to eternal rest in the Hatzerim cemetery, and left behind a wife, son and daughter, parents and two brothers, and he was awarded the “Medal of Honor” for his actions in battle.
