Heiman, Hillel
Son of Eliyahu and her son. Born in Cairo, Egypt on August 5, 1943. His family immigrated to Israel in 1950. He studied at Hillel Elementary School in Kfar Shalem and at the Ironi School in Tel Aviv. He was devoted to his parents and respected them, and Hillel was drafted into the IDF in August 1961 and assigned to the Engineering Corps. During his days of service, he excelled as a soldier who meticulously carried out everything he was assigned. After his release from regular service he searched for his life and worked for several years as a bus driver at the Dan Cooperative. Hillel loved his work and strove to advance it. He hoped to be accepted as a member of Dan, thus establishing his future and his family’s future. He was honest and fair and he was always cheerful and kind. He always knew how to make peace between many and calm things down. In 1968 he married a wife and a year later son of-Perry was born. Hillel loved children and wanted very much in his son and when he was born, Perry devoted all his attention to him. He always said: “I want a son to say after Kaddish.” And indeed his Lev knew what he had predicted. Hillel was called up for reserve duty from time to time and always came back with stories of experiences and celebrations. On the 13th of Adar 5703 (13.3.1970), he fell while carrying out his duties in the Golan Heights, when he boarded a mine and placed a wife and a small child.
