Hefetz, Avraham (Avrahamle)
Avraham, son of Chaya and Aharon Hefetz, was born on 17 Kislev 5626 in Jerusalem. He worked in the Palmach in the Upper Galilee and completed a course for squad commanders. After his service he returned to Jerusalem. Avraham was revealed as a commander with great courage. He took care of his subordinates and liked them and often served as an example of his heroism. On his way to Jerusalem, he was injured in the outpost between the village of Beit Mahsir and the Sha’ar Hagai road and died of his wounds on May 14, 1948. He was buried in Sanhedria in Jerusalem. In 1951 he was brought to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
