Hedge-Geiger, Mordechai


The only son of Moritz and Tzila. He was born on March 28, 1937 in Vienna, the capital of Austria. After his parents fled from Hitler’s armies in 1938, he spent his childhood in Montevideo, Uruguay, and attended elementary school there. In 1950, his family immigrated to Israel. In the framework of the “Youth Aliyah”, Mordecai was accepted to the “Green Village” school, where he was educated until he reached the age of 17. He went to study in the Air Force Technical School and acquired his profession. Mordechai took every opportunity to expand his education and achieved considerable achievements. He successfully completed his four-year course at Polytechnic. That’s how his life went through his studies and training for the future. He was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in mid-November 1956 and volunteered to serve in the Israel Air Force, where he served in the Israel Air Force and served in the Israel Air Force. His outstanding qualities were diligence, responsibility and willingness to help others, and therefore he had many friends. He had little time left and he devoted himself to sporting activities and hobbies – especially photography. On the 16th of Sivan 5769 (June 16, 1969), while he was in an officers’ course, he fell while fulfilling his duties and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
