Hazanowitz, Aharon


Son of David. He was born in 1915 in Poland. He immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1937 and joined the Haganah. He joined the police and served for a year and a half in the Haifa police force, in 1938. During the riots he was wounded by Arabs and was hospitalized at Hadassah Hospital. After his recovery, he was transferred to the Petach Tikva police station on 7 Adar, February 26, 1939, when a British policeman accidentally shot and killed Aharon. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Petach Tikva accompanied by the “Maccabi Hatzair” guards, guards and policemen. Left behind a mother. His name was immortalized in the book “Kofer HaYishuv”.
