During the Yom Kippur War, Faiz enlisted to help Kibbutz Haogen. Fayez was drafted into the IDF in mid-November 1974 and assigned to the Air Force in an anti-aircraft unit. Shortly after his enlistment, Faiz was transferred to the infantry unit of the Minorities Unit, where many of his friends served in the Druze community. Faiz wanted very much to return to his first unit in the air force, his commanding officer assured him to help, but this was not helped. As a soldier in the regular service, Faiz called a girl from his village and was ready to marry her. On February 17, 1975, Faiz was injured in an accident and fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Kfar Hurfeish. Survived by his parents, six brothers and sisters.
