Hayon, Yogev


Yogev ben Shoshana and Refoel was born in Binyamina on the 5th of Heshvon, October 21, 1974, the brother of Avihai and the twins Rotem and Zehavit. He was a good and charming boy, who was never insolent and did not argue. Yogev joined the IDF in October 1992. After completing his military service, he completed his basic training course and was assigned to the Materials and Chemistry Lab at the Israel Defense Forces’ In August 1997, Yogev completed his military service in the officers’ training course and returned to the laboratory as head of the building materials department. He was pleased to be assigned to the navy. Only six months after he began his service there, on the 23rd of Nisan 5758, April 19, 1998 ,Yogev fell in the line of duty at the age of twenty-three. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Binyamina, left behind his parents, brother and two sisters. The commander of the unit, Colonel Yossi, writes to the family: “At the beginning of his career at the shipyard, Yogev stood out for his professionalism and meticulousness in small details. Yogev was one of the pillars of the chemical laboratory at the Navy Shipyards, and contributed greatly to the technical-operational capabilities of the vessels. Yogev stood out in his humility and in his aspiration to perfection.
