Haybashman, Dov

Dov, son of Miriam and Menachem, was born on 10.1.1935 in Gorhonetz (Transylvania), Romania, and immigrated to Israel in 1949. Dov was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early September 1953 and assigned to the Artillery Corps. During the Yom Kippur War, his unit participated in the battles against the Syrians in the Golan Heights. On October 18, 1973, near the Hosheniya junction, Dov was hit by artillery fire and killed. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He left behind a wife, a son and a daughter, a mother and two sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant.
