Hausenberg, Zvi (Harry)


Was born on 28.8.1930 in the city of Czernowitz, Romania During the Second World War he was taken from his father and sent to Transnistria with his mother and brothers, and during their wanderings the mother fell ill and Zvi, aged twelve, During the winter and frost, he sold matches and cigarettes from morning till dark, earning enough money to buy medicine for the mother and a poor family, and in August 1946 he parted from his mother and immigrated to Israel on the illegal immigrant ship Haganah together with his younger brother Zvi Father and friend, together they went to Magdiel to the agricultural educational institution for immigrant youth, and at the beginning of 1948 the mother immigrated to Israel. He worked for a few months and worked hard, but did not know how to rest in his Lev until he joined his fellow fighters, who trained with him in his first training in the Haganah and joined the Alexandroni Brigade during the War of Independence. And took part in an operation near Kfar Sava and was later sent to the Ramat Hakovesh regiment Zvi fell in defense of Ramat Hakovesh on 7 January 1949 and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya.
