Hattab, Yisroel-Dror


Yisroel ben Amos and Esther. Born on the 5th of Iyar, Independence Day, May 6, 1957 in Rehovot. He grew up in a large family. In November 1975 Yisroel was drafted into the IDF. After two months of basic basic training, he was assigned to the Artillery Corps. He took a field artillery course, but was employed mainly as a heavy truck driver. He also completed a course for half-track drivers. A year later, he was promoted to corporal. Yisroel’s work in the army was not easy, since he was also employed in complex transport and immigration. Yisroel took part in the Litani operation to destroy the terrorists’ assets in southern Lebanon and spent two months on the other side of the border. Yisroel fell in the line of duty on the 7th of Tishrai, October 8th, 1978. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
